Barak
Obama has failed in his duty as Commander in Chief. Nowhere has this been more fully illustrated than in
Afghanistan. It’s evident that he simply has abdicated one of his primary responsibilities as a commander,
the duty to put the troops’ welfare uppermost. President Obama has ignored the service and sacrifice
of men and women who are now on their third and fourth tours of duty by imposing a top down, kid glove, don’t upset
the enemy policy.
The same policy that resulted in no artillery or armor support
for Medal of Honor recipient Cpl. Dakota Meyer, Afghan army troops and his fellow Marines while they fought off an ambush
by over sixty jihadists in Ganjigal, a remote village
near the Pakistan border. [1] The jihadists retreated back over the border to Pakistan. To the same country that Barak Obama later
apologized to two years later regarding the firing in self-defense, in war time, by NATO aircraft that killed 24 Pakistani
soldiers on that same border. Also the same country that harbored Osama bin Laden, forcing a covert operation
that risked many American lives just prior to the subsequent apology by the Commander in Chief. Vice-President
Joe Biden’s comment at a fundraiser, “"Do any one of you have a doubt that if that raid failed that
this guy would be a one-term president?" he asked. "This guy is willing to do the right thing
and risk losing.”[2] Zowie, talk about cojones and risking it all…
Finally, Leon Pancetta, er, Porchetta,
I mean Panetta. A Clinton-era retread who without an iota of military, diplomatic or intelligence experience was nominated
by President Obama as Director of the CIA. After a couple of years reinforcing the mindset so aptly illustrated
above by Joe Biden ( see above) within the CIA; he was then appointed Secretary of Defense.
As Secretary of Defense he has initiated President
Obama’s policy of cutting troop levels as well as slashing benefits. So, the three or four tours
that each service member and their families have endured over the last decade will most likely increase to five or seven.
Being all you can be isn’t what it used to be and a few good men will most likely be enough Marines to fly those
critical missions to Camp David and/or the golf course on Marine One.
During his recent trip to Afghanistan, the SecDef instituted the President’s new Dis-arm and
Dis-simulate policy for all Marines unlucky enough to be forced to hear the ‘Th-th-th-that’s all' speech at Camp
Leatherneck. The Marines were forced to stack rifles and side arms so as not to offend the unarmed Afghans
also present. One wonders if the Marines took offense considering 79 coalition soldiers have died at the
hands of our ‘allies’ in recent months.[3] Obviously not a concern of President Obama.
